What Salesforce Administrator postings look for
An admin job description is mostly about control and trust: who can see which records, how work moves through the org, and whether leaders believe the dashboards. The keywords that matter are the concrete pieces of that job, such as permission sets, sharing rules, org-wide defaults, validation rules and Flow, not "Salesforce CRM" on its own.
Two changes affect admin resumes right now. The Administrator certification was renamed Platform Administrator in July 2025, and Advanced Administrator became Platform Administrator II. Postings and resumes use both names, so it helps to show the one the posting uses. Support for Workflow Rules and Process Builder ended on 31 December 2025, so moving that automation to Flow is now everyday admin work, and worth naming if you have done it.
You will also see Agentforce in some newer postings. Agent Builder and Prompt Builder are worth listing only if you have built something with them.

Placement strategy
Where to Put Keywords on Your Resume
Where a keyword appears matters to people reading your resume, and some checkers weigh it too.
Summary & Skills sections
Put your top required keywords here. Recruiters scan these first. Our checker adds up to 8 points to the overall score when the job's required skills appear in your Summary or Skills section, scaled by how many of them are there.
Experience bullets
Keywords in experience bullets provide context and evidence. A skill listed in Skills plus proven in experience is stronger than either alone. Use natural phrasing — don't keyword-stuff.
Acronyms vs. full terms
Many checkers treat “ML” and “Machine Learning” as the same keyword, but not all do. Use both forms at least once each.
Exact phrasing matters
Use the exact keyword forms shown above. If the JD says “PostgreSQL” don't only write “Postgres” — include both forms. Minor variations can fail exact-match ATS filters.
FAQ
Questions about Salesforce Administrator resumes
Should I write Administrator or Platform Administrator on my resume?
Use the wording of the posting you are applying to. If your resume uses the other name, add it once in brackets, for example "Salesforce Certified Platform Administrator (formerly Administrator)". The checker treats both names as the same certification.
Should I still list Workflow Rules and Process Builder?
List them as migration work, not as current tools. Salesforce ended support for both on 31 December 2025, so "migrated [X] Process Builder processes to Flow" shows a skill employers need now.
Is Agentforce worth adding to an admin resume?
Only if you have used it. If you have configured an agent in Agent Builder or a template in Prompt Builder, describe what it did. If not, leave it out; it is a differentiator, not a core admin requirement.
How do I show admin impact without big numbers?
Use scale and scope: number of users, objects or automations you own, how often you release, and what changed for the people using the org. Replace the [X] placeholders in the examples on this page with your real figures, or leave a number out if you do not know it.
