What Salesforce Consultant postings look for

A consultant is hired to turn a business problem into a working Salesforce solution, so the keywords describe that whole path: discovery workshops and requirements gathering, process mapping and solution design, user stories, configuration, and UAT through to sign-off. Configuration skills alone read as an admin resume.

The two big consultant certifications changed name on 24 July 2026: Sales Cloud Consultant is now Agentforce Sales Consultant, and Service Cloud Consultant is now Agentforce Service Consultant. The credential and the exam content are the same, and Trailblazer profiles update on their own. Many postings still use the old names, so the checker matches both.

Cloud-specific depth still matters. For Sales Cloud that means lead and opportunity management and forecasting; for Service Cloud, case management, Omni-Channel, knowledge articles and entitlements.

How to show this on your resume

Replace each [X] with your real figure, or leave the number out if you don't know it. Never guess a metric.

  4. Before Set up Service Cloud.

After Configured Service Cloud case management with Omni-Channel routing and entitlements so each case type reached the right queue.

Where to Put Keywords on Your Resume

Where a keyword appears matters to people reading your resume, and some checkers weigh it too.

Summary & Skills sections

Put your top required keywords here. Recruiters scan these first. Our checker adds up to 8 points to the overall score when the job's required skills appear in your Summary or Skills section, scaled by how many of them are there.

Experience bullets

Keywords in experience bullets provide context and evidence. A skill listed in Skills plus proven in experience is stronger than either alone. Use natural phrasing — don't keyword-stuff.

Acronyms vs. full terms

Many checkers treat “ML” and “Machine Learning” as the same keyword, but not all do. Use both forms at least once each.

Exact phrasing matters

Use the exact keyword forms shown above. If the JD says “PostgreSQL” don't only write “Postgres” — include both forms. Minor variations can fail exact-match ATS filters.

Questions about Salesforce Consultant resumes

My certificate says Sales Cloud Consultant. Is it still valid?

Yes. It was renamed Agentforce Sales Consultant on 24 July 2026; the credential is the same and your Trailblazer profile shows the new name. On your resume, use the name the posting uses and add the other one once in brackets.

What separates a consultant resume from an admin resume?

The front of the project. Consultants are judged on discovery, design and delivery: how many workshops you ran, what you designed, how you managed UAT and change. Admin resumes lead with ongoing configuration and support.

Should I list every cloud I have worked with?

Lead with the clouds the job asks for and give them detail. Mention others briefly. A list of every cloud with no depth reads as exposure rather than delivery.
