Resume checker for Salesforce professionals
Paste your resume and a Salesforce job description. See which clouds, skills and certifications you're missing, scored by a checker that knows Apex from Aura, and knows that PD1 and Platform Developer are the same certification.

Salesforce renamed your certifications. Does your resume know?
Salesforce renamed many certifications in July 2025 and again on 24 July 2026, and renamed products such as Data Cloud along the way. The names are in transition: postings and resumes use both the old and the new names. The checker matches both, so a resume that says “Sales Cloud Consultant” matches a job that asks for “Agentforce Sales Consultant”, and the other way round.
| Former name | Current name | Changed |
|---|---|---|
| Administrator | Platform Administrator | July 2025 |
| Advanced Administrator | Platform Administrator II | July 2025 |
| Platform Developer I (PD1) | Platform Developer | July 2025 |

| Marketing Cloud Email Specialist | Marketing Cloud Engagement Specialist | 24 July 2026 |
| Revenue Cloud Consultant | Revenue Management Consultant | 24 July 2026 |
| Data Cloud (product) | Data 360 | October 2025 |

What to write
- Use the posting's own wording. If the job says “Salesforce Certified Administrator”, write that.
- Add the other name once. If your resume uses the other name, add it in brackets the first time, for example “Salesforce Certified Platform Administrator (formerly Administrator)” or “Sales Cloud Consultant (now Agentforce Sales Consultant)”.
- Keep retiring certifications if they're relevant. Several, including CPQ Administrator, retire on 1 February 2027. Salesforce says a retired certification is still valid and stays on your Trailblazer profile, marked as retired, but it won't appear on the certification verification page. List it as retired, not as current.
Who built this
Built by a working Salesforce Architect with about 6 years in the Salesforce ecosystem and 10 years in IT.
In that time they have seen strong engineers describe Apex work as "worked on Salesforce development" and lose out to candidates who named the clouds, features and integrations the job asked for.
They built this checker to recognise Salesforce skills properly: clouds, certifications under their old and new names, LWC and integrations, not just generic tech keywords.

Common Salesforce resume mistakes
- "Worked on Salesforce" with nothing after it. Name the cloud, the features and the scale: how many users, records, orgs or integrations. That is what reviewers and keyword searches look for.
- Badges where certifications should be. Put certifications in their own section near the top. Trailhead badges and superbadges show learning; mention them briefly, after your certifications.
- Only the old name, or only the new one. "Sales Cloud Consultant", "Data Cloud", "Pardot" and "Process Builder" are all still in use, but so are their replacements. Use the term the posting uses, and add the other once.
- Every cloud you have ever touched. Lead with the clouds the job asks for and give them detail. A long list without depth reads as exposure, not delivery.
- No scale or impact. Org size, data volumes, release frequency, automation you replaced, pages you sped up. If you do not know a number, describe the scope instead of guessing.
- An admin resume sent to a developer job. Show the path from Flow to Apex: triggers and test classes you wrote, deployments you ran, and version control you used. Only if you have done them.
- Vague integration work. Name the APIs (REST, SOAP), the middleware (MuleSoft), and the patterns: Platform Events, Named Credentials, OAuth.
How the checker scores Salesforce resumes
It finds the skills, tools and certifications in the job description, and checks which appear in your resume. Skills the posting lists as required count more than preferred ones. If the job lists at least three required skills and you match fewer than half of them, the score is capped at 59, or at 39 below 30%. If any required skill is missing, the score can't go above 95.
Salesforce terms that are also everyday words, such as “Flow” or “Journey Builder”, only count when the text is about Salesforce. Certification names that are also job titles, such as Platform Developer or Data Architect, count as certifications only in a sentence about certification or under a Certifications heading, so a job titled “Salesforce Platform Developer” isn't read as requiring the certification.

Frequently asked questions
Does it recognise Salesforce certifications, including the renamed ones?
Yes. It knows the current names and the former ones, for example Platform Administrator and Administrator, Agentforce Sales Consultant and Sales Cloud Consultant, Platform Developer and PD1. A job description that uses one name matches a resume that uses the other, in both directions.
Should I use the old or the new certification name?
Use the posting's own wording. Names are in transition and postings use both. If your resume uses the other name, add it once in brackets, for example "Platform Administrator (formerly Administrator)" or "Sales Cloud Consultant (now Agentforce Sales Consultant)".
Should I list Trailhead badges?
Briefly. Certifications carry more weight, so list them first in their own section. A superbadge that matches the job can be worth one line.
Should I keep a retiring certification like CPQ Administrator?
Yes, if it is relevant to the job, and list it as retired rather than current. Salesforce says a retired certification is still valid and stays on your Trailblazer profile, marked as retired, but it will not appear on the certification verification page.
How do I tailor an Admin resume for a Developer role?
Show the progression from declarative to code: Flows you extended or replaced with Apex, triggers and test classes you wrote, and deployments or version control you used. Add Apex or LWC only if you have written that code.
Is my resume stored?
No. The check runs in your browser and your resume and the job description are never sent to our servers. If you choose to tailor your resume, the text is kept only in this browser tab until you sign in, and is cleared as soon as it is loaded.
Does a high score guarantee an interview?
No. The score shows how closely your wording matches the job description. Employers set up their applicant tracking systems differently, and people make the hiring decisions.
